Saving Faith (by The Traveller)
I found this article on a website while I was on holiday some months ago and it keeps coming back to me and is so resounding as I walk this walk. It’s a journey that’s quite difficult sometimes and the road looks long and hard but thank God that He gives grace. Heb 4:14-16
Saving faith…
Saving faith receives Jesus as Savior and Lord and Treasure of your life.
This faith will fight anything that gets between it and Christ.
The distinguishing mark of saving faith is not perfection.
The mark of faith is not that I never sin [or goof or mess up or misrepresent].
The mark of faith is that I fight.
I fight anything that diminishes the fullness of the Lordship of Jesus in my life.
I fight anything that threatens to replace Jesus as the Supreme Treasure of my life
Anything that stands between me and receiving Jesus [and walking with Him in a way that pleases Him], faith fights – not with fists or knives or guns or bombs, but with the truth of Christ [with the truth and reality of His word, with the knowledge of Him, the price He has paid and what He has spoken concerning me].
